New Dietary Guidelines

February 7, 2011

The US Government has issued new dietary guidelines for 2011 that are coming closer to those recommended at Happiness Through Health. The key modifications that they’ve made are to eat less sodium (less than a teaspoon if salt per day), sugar, and solid fats (meaning saturated fats). Replace the solid fats with oils and replace grains with whole grains. In addition Americans are being encouraged to eat more fruits, vegetables, and seafood as well as fat free or low fat dairy products. ¬†Also men should only have two alcoholic bevarages per day and women should limit it to one. ¬†These are all great steps to take at becoming healthier, and with the right nutrition plan from HTH Personal Training you can use them to maximize not only your health, but your physique and performance as well.
